Sally Greco – Medical Device Trainer
Joined STERIS in January 2019
Describe what a day in your role is like:
I spend most of my time offering and delivering Customer focused 1-2-1 training, supporting them to apply the best practice principals in the Decontamination, Handling and storage of Flexible Endoscopes which then supports improved Customer satisfaction as the need to send flexible endoscopes for repair is minimised.
What did you do before you joined STERIS?
I had a healthy and ambitious career in the NHS for 9 years, I was heavily supported to develop my skills to become a subject matter expert around Flexible Endoscope Decontamination. Within the NHS I started as a technician and progressed through the ranks to a managerial position and leading a team of 38 staff.
What is your favourite part about your role?
Getting my hands dirty, scrub suit on and making a difference for the patient and the teams I have the pleasure working with.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Family time and supporting my daughter who has her own horse and is keen to progress in dressage. Walking my little miniature sausage dog (for as long as her little legs will allow).
Anything else that you would like to tell us about yourself?
Before my career within the NHS from the age of 17 years old my career was looking after elderly patients with dementia and mental health illnesses and offering support to their families. I have always been patient focused and put patient safety at the heart of my career.
