Lorraine Figliolini – SynergyTrak Solutions Consultant
I have been working within the healthcare industry for 28 years. I started out as a member of the nursing team at University College Hospital London. After various roles within the NHS including PA and Practice Management, I took a change in direction and joined the national Decon Project Team at University Hospitals of Leicester.
On completion of the project I joined Synergy Health as Customer Services Manager within the Leicester sterile services facility. Whilst I was Customer Services Manager, I learnt not to take things personally. I was the point of contact for Customers, who at times were frustrated. I learnt that we need to nurture joint partnership working to eradicate a “them and us” blame culture. At the end of the day, it is the patient that matters. We should always strive to work together to resolve any issues, that prevent a patient from receiving the treatment they need.
Quality of service really does matter. In 2015, after completing a number of projects for IT and working dual role for six months, I joined the IT team full-time as SynergyTrak Solutions Consultant.
I believe that STERIS has provided me with the opportunity and tools to flourish and progress. My line manager continually encourages me in my personal development and I feel he is invested in my future.
